It's May, and mowing Season!!
We are mowing weekly now. This is the earliest we have started mowing weekly in the 10 years we've been doing this. Our main focus as a company is lawn mowing and feel that to properly care for your turf and encourage it to be healthy and looking good we need to be on your property every week. Your turf never wants more then 1/3 cut off at any time and by being weekly we can maintain your property the way it needs to be cared for. We are also able to catch problems before they get out of hand. We take pride in making your yard look great each and every time we are there.
Another thing we would like to mention is that each grass, Bermuda and St. Augustine, need to be maintained differently. We take this into consideration when caring for your yard.
St. Augustine is the least cold tolerant of the warm season grasses, so the winter of 2010 really hurt St. Augustine yards because of the cold and heavy snow. It is not very drought tolerant and so it needs regular watering through out the growing season to survive. It performs better in the shade. We maintain St. Augustine at 3 to 5 inches.
Bermuda is the most commonly used turf grass. It will not tolerate shade and that is why it is very thin on the North side of your house. It is drought tolerant but will go dormant and turn brown, regular watering is needed to keep it green. We maintain Bermuda at 2 to 3 inches.
Each grass also needs to be mowed a little higher in shady areas to allow for adequate photosynthesis. We'd love to talk to you about your yard and how we can care for it's individual needs.

We are still doing aeration and top dressing
I strongly believe this is the most important thing you can do for your yard. Our organic program is set up to build your soil which in turn grows strong healthy turff. Aeration is $95 for most yards and top dressing is $95/2000 sqft/1 cuyd of compst. Our guys are quick and reliable. They will do great work and all speak English as their primary language.
